Lee Ford is an artist (born in Boston, MA) living and working in Red Hook, Brooklyn
Her work is dynamic, dense and sometimes structural. She considers her painting process additive, where she builds rather than erases. It offers the viewer lyrical eruptions of line and color. It can be explored up close, or from a distance.
As of recently, she has been developing a visual language that explores how colors and shapes relate to each other and the potential of that to elicit a feeling (how this juxtaposition can conjure different moods and feelings). The thought is that it is ineffable but still familiar. How elements and their colors relate to each other in space is something she is consciously exploring.
